ASU v. LSU

I haven't posted since i've been able to, simply because im lazy. but now i have some time to kill before the game, so i want to post about it. molly and i went to get her a ticket, and the student section was sold out. i would have been able to get in b/c i have a season pass, but she wouldn't, so we got reserved seating in the north end of the stadium. advantages: (1) we will be able to get there just before game time and still get seats. (2) we will be able to sit down for more than 15 seconds between quarters. (3) the sun will not be directly in our eyes for the first 45 minutes. (4) No drunk college dudes making asses of themselves (and smoking) right next to us. (5) molly gets to go. Disadvantages: (1) 10 bucks a ticket (but all the proceeds from the game go to hurricane relief, so that works out almost as an advantage). (2) we won't be in the atmosphere of the student section. (3) the old people around me will not be as appreciative as the student section when i tell either LSU or the referees exactly what i think of them. well, that's enough about the seats. Here's my take on the actual game:

LSU Advantages
LSU is rated as high as 5th in the country by some polls. That's pretty tough. they are also playing with the motivation that their homes, families, communities, and lives were just crushed by Katrina. that is sure as hell something to play for. ASU's motivation? "Let's go pound the hell out of these people whose lives were just demolished?" I don't even think ASU can stoop that low...

ASU Advantages
the game is now a home game for ASU b/c LSU has been turned into an emergency evacuation / assistance center in the wake of Katrina. ASU will have a substantial crowd, as this is one of our 2 biggest games of the year. also (and this may be the most crucial advantage), ASU football has never lost a game that I have attended. you bet your sweet ass i'm there.

we'll see how the game plays out, but like i said we've never lost a game that i've been to... speaking of, IT'S 'BOUT TIME FOR SOME FOOTBALL!
