England

So I made it to England... it's pretty much awesome. The trip over was kinda hit and miss... on one hand i got delayed for 3 flights in salt lake city and missed my connection to manchester in atlanta (which only goes out once a day at 8:10 p.m.) so i had to stay in atlanta for 24 hours, but it turned out okay because one of molly's friends lives in atlanta and i was able to stay with her. my buddy brian happened to be on the same flight to manchester as me the next night as well, so we met in the ATL and then flew across together... hahaha except i got business class seats on the flight and he had coach, so that was way too much fun for me :) anyways, when we got here delta had broken one of the wheels off of my big suitcases, so i had to drag it on the ground for miles and miles as we tried to get into our dorms and what not.... i went to the residence i was assigned and it was really dodgy, like super filthy and creepy, and i thought i would just make the best of it, but then i realized they didn't have internet, to i caught the first bus to "the hell out of there..." i ended up getting assigned to the same residence area that brian is in (which is 4 miles out of town) it's pretty huge, 1200 students in a few residences... it's called bodington. well, my american money comes out to toilet paper here, and i've actually found that it is nicer to wipe my ass with, so i'm using it instead... no really the exchange rate is absolute crap. besides that, however, i have been having a blast. Leeds is a really awesome, picture perfect british city (like huge city, it's awesome) and there are some great places. everything is so cool, and old, and British!!! It's pretty great, and I hope to take a lot of pictures soon. my flat mates are really really awesome (not so much for a few of brian's flatmates, but a couple of his are pretty cool too.) I've met a bunch of people, the first night my flatmates went and grabbed everyone they knew and filed them by my room running names right past me... i have no idea of half of the people's names yet. i met a bunch of australians today during the study abroad orientation, and they seem really cool, so i hope to be able to get to know them. the food hasn't been that bad, if not a little pricey (particularly b/c of the crap exchange rate) However, I feel this post has reached its limit, and i really dont feel like writing anymore at the moment. I really hope to post some pictures on here and maybe in facebook soon, so we'll see (i'm not a huge facebooker, but everyone else uses it a lot and would actually look at them, so maybe...) On a related side notes, i have seen some giant women here... quite strange, really....

I wish I were in England! Living/studying abroad is a ton of fun! But don't believe what the British tell you, dental hygiene is a good idea. And enjoy the exchange rate between 'quid' and 'bucks'. Take care...
